Facilities Committee Meeting - December 15, 2014

 With the year coming to a close, the facilities committee is staying inside for this month! Come join the committee to talk about the goals and plans for the next year at 6pm on December 15, 2014. 

More specifically, the meeting will cover input into the Southwest neighborhood plan, thinking about how to focus more attention of maintenance of facilities, scheduling rides for 2015 based on DDOT's plans, and tallying results from this year's rides. As always, everyone is invited and additional suggestions for agenda items are welcomed. Just look for the folks with bike helmets!

 The safety committee and legislative committee will not be meeting this month.

Below is a Google map showing 32 new Capital Bikeshare locations ( Blue pins ) and 18 current stations that will see expansion ( red pins ), most of which should be installed by the fall of 2011.  According to a press release issued by goDCgo , the District Department of Transportation Director Terry Bellamy states that, " With this expansion we will not only increase the overall reach of the system, but we will expand the program’s capacity by 22 percent in the downtown area, by 80 percent in our East of the River operations and by an average of 38 percent throughout each of the additional Wards .” Most of the new locations add capacity in the system's core but CaBi appears to also expanded east of the Anacostia River in the neighborhoods of Fairfax Village, Benning Ridge, Congress Heights and downtown Anacostia.
