Joshua Marks, a blogger for the Washington Examiner , writes about an incident with Mayor Vincent Gray when a reporter asked about the continuation of the District's transition to a more bike-friendly city .    The title of the story states that the Mayor answered the question  in a "testy" fashion - implying that the Mayor took umbrage at the apparent accusation that former Mayor Adrian Fenty and former DDOT Director Gabe Klein had the only progressive ideas regarding bicycling transportation.  Perhaps now at 100 days, we should look at what has happened or what should have happened. According to Angie Schmitt and Streetsblog, the former head of the District Department of Transportation is headed to Chicago .  With much chagrin and gnashing of teeth from some who live in the District, the Mayor-Elect Rahm Emanuel elected to take a chance and have Klein manage transportation the nation's third largest city.  Good luck.

The Former District Department of Transportation (DDOT) Director, Gabe Klein , doesn't seem to know when to give up.  First, he contemplates running for the at-large bid in the DC Council and now he's working for the Department of Public Works (DPW) as a Parking Enforcement Officer - well not exactly. VIOLATION - (Gabe Klein via TBD on Foot) TBD writes how Klein learned via tweets last week that cars were parked illegally in the 15th Street NW cycletrack around L Street for most of the day.  He apparently biked over to the location, took pictures of the violators and tweeted them to DDOT and DPW.  Shortly there after, 15 tickets were issued to cars park on that strip.
