The Legislative and Safety, Education, and Enforcement Committees are holding a joint meeting on Oct. 2 to prepare testimony for the bicycling-related bills that the Council Committee on Transportation & the Environment will hear in late October. The BAC committee meeting takes place at 6 p.m. in conference room 2 of the Shaw library, 1630 7th St NW.

At its early September meeting, the BAC voted to co-sponsor Ward 8 community rides in conjunction with the Washington Area Bicyclist Association. BAC member Gregg Adams led the Sept. 20 ride, whose participants included a Greater Greater Washington editor who reported on the “harsh realities for people bicycling.” The BAC Facilities Committee rode in the area in June and reported its findings in the meeting minutes.
